        FAQs

        1. Do I need to buy an instrument? Students can choose to rent or purchase an instrument from a local vendor. See Mrs. Swift for recommendations. Students may also choose to rent an instrument through FCPS/SCHS. See Mrs. Swift for details.
        2. Is there an Orchestra uniform? The "uniform" for all orchestra performances is "concert black". This consists of an entirely black outfit (from shoulders to toes) that looks professional and school appropriate. Students may also purchase orchestra spirtwear if they so choose.
        3. How do I move into a higher orchestra class? Students new to SCHS will complete a formal audition for class placement. See above. Students returning to SCHS will be placed based on their performance throughout the previous year(s).
